The staff is amicable here, the services are friendly, and location is decent very close to the Des Moines airport, and attractions or restaurants.

There were 2 people who were friendly and helpful; the manager on duty when we arrived and the desk clerk named Duran who checked us out; in fact, I would give Duran a high recommendation for how he handled my complaints.

Everything! In spite of our request for a quiet room away from traffic we were located in a room just above a busy street. I find it hard to believe this hotel was "renovated" less than 6 months ago. The facilities are dirty, things are broken (like the switches on the elevator) and it is generally not being kept up. There is an unpleasant odor (musty) throughout the public areas, the carpets are dirty, drapes look old and dingy and the floor in our room felt sticky. To be honest I could not wait to get out of there!

The disability bathroom with tub was very nice and well equipped with all safety measures including a fold down seat.

I booked my reservation through Booked.net for a one night stay for 2 adults in double room with 2 queen beds and disability bathroom access, for $178,00 for the night. We arrived at Hampton Inn Des Moines Airport and found we were put into a single room with a full size bed. When we went to let the front desk know they had made a mistake, they informed us that Booked.net sent them a reservation for the single room at a charge of $178.00 for the night. Additionally, the hotel had no other double rooms and consequently had to bring a roll away bed to the room. The desk clerk, Casy S., assured me that the price of the room would be discounted to $89.00 for the night. I then noticed on a plaque embedded in the front desk, that the Hampton Inn has a guarantee that "if you are not satisfied, you don't pay." Upon check-out the following morning, I brought up my dissatisfaction with our accommodations as they were not what I had booked, and Duran, the desk clerk assured me after verifying my reservation and our actual accommodations, that they would honor their guarantee and not charge me for the nights stay. Then I get home to check if my credit card used to make the Booked.net reservation had been charged and there is a $200.48 pending charge to the Hampton Inn Des Moines Airport, something that came as a total surprise to me. I am hoping that the Hampton Inn will work out the problem they have with Booked.net sending incorrect reservation information to their hotel and that they will process a credit of $200.48 to my credit card in a timely manner, as they had promised. I'm not certain that I would recommend to friends, the use of Booked.net to make hotel reservations, or the Hampton Inn Des Moines Airport, as a hotel destination while staying in Des Moines, Iowa.

I love the bed! I stay at Hampton Inn's just for the comfy bed!!! Love it!

Room was soooo cold when I got to it. The thermostat was at 64 degrees. Brrrrr......

Duran was wonderful he worked the desk and seemed able to help

Everything else was a nightmare the breakfast area was cramped, the rooms were ill equipped for handicap rooms

Couple getaway with a twist

Had a nice largish mini fridge in the room which was great for all our drinks! The beds were lower to the floor than usual, and super comfy, I actually got a good night sleep for once, can't say that often.

It wasn't cheap, a bit pricey I must say but still, it worked out fine for us.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and especially the breakfast staff. The receptionists were also very friendly.

The mattress was indeed like a cloud. Sorry I couldn't have used the facilities more, but I became ill the second night, and slept the third day. Staff respected my need for sleep.

Bending the rules and offering a free bottle of water at check in, even though my rating slipped to the lowest level.

This place was a great match for a short weekend trip in Des Moines with very good value for money. The staff was super friendly and quickly sorted out a minor reservation issue. Make sure to check out the breakfast. It's quite a spread!

Booked.net raised the price without me knowing, costing me $17 extra dollars. That was the only issue with the trip.
